Psychodynamic
🌿 What Is Psychodynamic Therapy?
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that our past experiences—especially those from childhood—can shape the way we think, feel, and behave today. Often, we carry unconscious patterns, emotional wounds, or defense mechanisms that influence how we relate to ourselves and others, even if we're not fully aware of them.
In therapy, we gently explore these deeper layers of your inner world to better understand what's driving certain emotions, reactions, or relationship patterns. This isn’t about blaming the past, but about bringing hidden parts of your story into the light—so you can have more choice, freedom, and clarity in the present.

EMDR
🌿 What Is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, distressing memories, or overwhelming life experiences. It’s especially helpful when painful events from the past still feel very present—showing up as anxiety, nightmares, flashbacks, or emotional triggers.
When something overwhelming happens, your brain doesn’t always get a chance to fully process it. The memory can get “stuck,” along with the feelings, thoughts, and body sensations that came with it. EMDR helps your brain reprocess these memories in a way that feels more resolved and less distressing—so you’re not constantly reliving the past.
In an EMDR session, we use gentle bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements or tapping, while you recall a specific memory. This helps your brain access its natural healing process. You stay fully in control throughout, and we go at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
People often find that EMDR not only reduces emotional pain from past experiences, but also helps them feel more grounded, empowered, and free in the present.

We’ll focus on your hopes, goals, and the small steps that can lead you there. You don’t need to have it all figured out—just a willingness to explore what’s possible.
In SFBT, we’ll work together to:

-Notice exceptions (times when the problem is less intense or doesn’t happen)
-Build on your existing strengths and successes
-Create clear, realistic steps toward your preferred future

🌿 What is Person-Centered Therapy?
Person-Centered Therapy is a warm, supportive approach to counseling that puts you at the heart of the process. Rather than giving advice or trying to "fix" you, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges freely.
This approach is based on the belief that you are the expert on your own life—and that you already have the inner strength and wisdom to grow, heal, and move forward. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, respect, and genuine care.
Person-Centered Therapy is helpful for people navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, or simply looking to better understand themselves. It’s especially effective if you value a collaborative, respectful relationship with your therapist.
